Full Moon by Sunshine Raines

The time was coming,
As I knew it would.
I had to get ready,
I knew I should.

The full moon was here,
It would not wait.
It came all too soon,
To anticipate.

The wolf would be out
I had to go now.
I had to catch him,
Upon the prowl.

My gun was loaded,
Silver bullets in the chamber,
I had to stop,
This mad behavior.

I hunt a man,
they call a were,
When the moon is full,
He’s a frightful scare.

He prowls the night,
Looking for pray,
He hunts all night,
Till the dawn of day.

I had to put him down,
no matter the cost,
too many citizens,
lives were lost.

I am a hunter,
now you see,
this werewolf’s life,
is lost to me.
