My best summer memories are as a teenager when I used to go fishing all day or just mucking around riding our push bikes through the woods.

Some years ago i went to one of the Ozzfests at the local arena. That was such an ejoyable experience. I came close to having heat stroke which was not fun at all and not an experience i wish to duplicate. Other than that the bands were great and the people were wonderful and they had mysting water stations.

I really miss when my son's were young and we'd go to the small amusement parks and ride go carts and play miniature golf.

Hiking and spending time around Rocky Mountain National Park is also the best. About every three years my sisters and their families come and visit us from Chicago. We always have a blast hiking and hanging around Estes Park. For some reason my youngest sister is a wild animal, and especially snake magnet (she almost stepped on a small rattlesnake a couple years ago). She's terrified of running into wild animals, so when we see any she freaks and we laugh. So far we haven't seen any bears or wild cats with her, which is good because she'd probably faint. We have run into some fresh bear droppings though and thought she might start running for the DIA.

I guess hanging out in the wilderness has always been a big thing for my family, because my other favorite place to hang out when I was a kid was Turkey Run in Indiana. We'd hike the trails, visit all the covered bridges and canoe. I remember a restaurant there that had the best pumpkin ice cream. GREAT TIMES!
