The long, hot breathless heat has awoken my day
White curtains floated in the air, brought with them warm breezes…
I rose…
Legs, whose sheets stuck like glue, are sweaty
In the stillness of daybreak,
the lingering smells of morning seeped through my hallway,
and into my kitchen,
Enticed my mind to eyes fully awakened now
Songbirds sung gaily as I sat at the table
yawning…

I sipped the black coffee for it is bitter,
but awakens me fully, and I am more alive now.
Eagerness poked its head out of drowsiness, then,
back to my room that lulls my day’s events away….
